In the spirit of George Jackson and the prison uprisings of the 60s and 70s, we celebrate Black August, calling for the release of all political prisoners, and an end to the mass incarceration of young people of color... This Thursday August 27, RDAC will be hosting a pre-Black August event, as a precursor to the Black August Hip Hop Project extravaganza at BB KINGs in Time Square, NY this coming Sunday. Performing live at RDAC on Thursday are Division X, Red Clay, Mazzi of S.O.U.L Purpose, WACO Division, Rebel Diaz, YC the Cynic, Hipnotic, Marcel Cartier, DJ Vega Benetton, and more! Admission is free with purchase of Black August ticket ($20) or $5 at the door. All proceeds benefit the political prisoner project led by Malcolm X Grassroots Movement.. Come thru!
