Immigrant Festival a huge success!
The Immigrant Festival at Brook Park was a resounding success this past Saturday, with more than 300 community members attending. The community enjoyed free food, musical performances, and free health and blood pressure screenings. The Boricua, Mexican, Garifuna, South American, and Carribbean community in the South Bronx represented big! A big thank you to La Peña del Bronx, Taller Experimental de Arte, Friends of Brook Park, the volunteer doctors from Albert Einstein, the Garifuna community for preparing the delicious food, and Councilmember Melissa Mark Viverito, the only politician who ventured to support the event... Lookout for our next festival next month at St. Mary's Park!
